Study the empirical evidence: Reincarnation really happens

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

I've never had any perception of a previous life and was skeptical of claims reincarnation can happen until very recently.

Remarkably, there is a lot of compelling evidence it happens, much of it compiled by the University of Virginia's Division of Perceptual Studies.

2 and 3 year old children sometimes spontaneously make accurate statements about historical events they couldn't possibly know about absent reincarnation.

In about 70% of the investigated cases the people allegedly reincarnated died what is called an 'unnatural' death: an accident, murder, suicide etc., and not from old age. It really looks like there are sometimes 'restless souls' who return to human life.

Here's an excellent video which features Dr. Jim Tucker, Director of the DOPS: in proper scientific fashion he qualifies his statements but this got my attention:

"there is evidence that consciousness at times can exist separately from a functioning brain..."

Here's Dr. Tucker's case study on James Leininger:

James Leininger is an ideal example but DOPS case studies provide MANY HUNDREDS of well documented examples of accurate statements made by very young children who have no way of knowing such precise historical information unless they somehow had access to the mind of the deceased. There are of course sometimes inaccurate statements which is exactly what you'd expect given the vagaries of human memory.

Kind of blows your mind, yes? I'm still trying to absorb all the implications and have to say it's been a game changer for my universe view.

Really though, given what has been learned about connections at the atomic level, reincarnation doesn't contradict any 'laws' of science.

We're all essentially energy and at some level(s) we're all connected.

This four decades old documentary is the best I've seen so far; Stevenson's conclusion first.

3720 "I think where the evidence has led us is that whereas formerly a belief in reincarnation was religious traditions, scriptures ... now at least one can point to evidence. And the evidence is not flawless, every case had some weakness or other, but there is an accumulation of quite strong evidence from, I would say, 100 cases.

Even for those 100 cases I would say there are alternative possibilities of interpretation but reincarnation is certainly plausible.

I would say in some cases for me its certainly the most compelling even though its not the only one."
